Product Description
Planet Law School is unlike any law school guide you will ever read. Written by an iconoclast with aims to improve all of law school education, this is an encyclopedic law school guidebook that has become shorthand . . . “PLS” . . . among law students. In its 858 pages, PLS offers in-depth advice on hundreds of legal resources, with chapters and sections on courses, materials, study guides, professors, law review, internships, clinics, bar review, resear… More >>

Just picked up a copy of this book. I found 5% of the book to be useful, the rest of it is plain garbage. Stick with Law School Confidential. My favorite part of Falcon’s book can be found on page 745, where he says “Anyone who dares “speak truth” to Israel’s power is instantly labeled “anti-semetic.” The role of Jewish terrorism against the British, in the founding of Israel-via the Stern Gang, the Irgun, and teh Hagannah-has disappeared down the memory hole. Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, and Hamas are epigones. They vent their fury on those who took- or who suport those who took-from the Palestinians the country known as Israel. The moral is : No one has clean hands. The Human race would have a better chance for improvement if each race would face up to its own ignobility.” Quite disturbing, right? Falcon attempts to discuss anti-semitism, but instead reveals that he is anti-semetic. No tact! Be aware!

It really helped me a lot ,I hope more people can read this book, because I want to have a real competition at law school.

This book is quite possibly the worst book I have ever read. I am happy that I got it out of the library rather than paying for it. (It was the only law school study book not checked out, that should have told me something.)
The book is essentially one long whine, accompanied by a list of books the author says you should buy and read before attending law school.
I would agree another reviewer – the author is obviously neither happy nor sucessful as an lawyer and is choosing to blame it on his law school experience. The real reason is probably that he is not very bright and does not know how to write.
The book seems to be most popular with students at Tier schools. I guess maybe they are looking for a way to blame their schools in case they don’t make it as a lawyer either.
I am, however, fascinated by the lengthy, long, and very wordy reviews that praise the book. Most seem to be written in a style much like the book. Sames words, same sentence style. Anonymous writer. That should tell you something.

I was excited to go to law school. Really. Then I read this book. Fortunately, I enrolled anyway, and found that Mr. Finch here clearly is 1) not happy or sucessful as a lawyer and 2) trying to make up for his own inadequacies by blaming law school for his failure. If you aren’t smart enough, diligent enough, or committed enough to make it through law school, it’s not the school’s fault. Please don’t read this book. I sincerely fear that it could convince people who would make brilliant and sensitive lawyers not to pursue this career. Having completed law school now, I know how important those people are to the profession. I can’t even in good conscience re-sell this book – that’s how dangerous I think it is. Check out Deaver’s “Complete Law School Companion” or “Getting to Maybe” (which is about exam skills, but gives a good idea of what law school thinking is like). Also, Mr. Finch must have some sort of deal with Aspen – he got me to buy $400 worth of books prior to school, only 3 of which i ever used. If he used his real name, I think I’d sue him for intentional infliction of emotional duress.

I am a prospective law school student and my mother picked up this book for me to read – to prepare me. All she did was spent 20 dollars on a book that told me to spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on other materials. Those other materials ARE valuable, so don’t waste your money on this book when it could be spent elsewhere. Pick up a copy from the library or split the cost with SEVERAL friends, find where it directs you and go (mainly look at chapter 5). Otherwise, this book is worthless, don’t believe all these others who claim it is God.
